Silly Hubby!

I just couldn't resist.  This is what Chris was doing when I was blogging this past Sunday... I particularly like that his bum is in the air a bit. =)

Our Awesome Spring Break

Chris and I had our Spring Break from school March 7th-11th.  It was so nice to not have to worry about school for an entire week.  However, we did still have to work.  On Friday, March 11th we had the wonderful opportunity to take work off for the day and take a trip down to Orlando, Florida to the Temple.

When Chris and I were sealed in the Temple before we went into the sealing room the Sealer had a few words of wisdom for us.  He encouraged us to attend the Temple at least once a month.  Ever since then that has been our goal.  Chris and I have attended the Temple every month except for two or three months.

I am not trying to boast and I DO NOT want to come off as "oh look at how righteous we are."  Attending the Temple each month is something that Chris and I see as something that will keep our marriage strong and keep us close together with our Heavenly Father.  I feel EXTREMELY blessed that we have the funds and a reliable car in order to go down to Orlando each month.  I feel so blessed also to have the time to do so.

We arrived at the Temple on Friday morning at about 11 o'clock.  We were inside for about two-three hours and then had lunch.  We packed our own lunch and so we got to sit outside on one of the benches on the Temple grounds and enjoy the beautiful weather and eat lunch with one another.  We then proceeded to go back inside for another hour or so.

My amazing / amazingly handsome husband

Me... not so amazing...

We left the Temple around 4:00 and headed to Grovesville, Florida where we had the opportunity to spend the night at Sister Judy Fields home.  Sister Fields is an amazing woman and was so kind enough to allow us to stay the night at her place.  She use to live in Tallahassee and when Chris was preparing for his mission she allowed Chris to stay at her house as he saved up money.  We went to the Publix up the road and I got a yummy sub and we got some food for breakfast the next morning.  Chris got some Chinese food from the restaurant in the same plaza. We went to bed at about 9:30p.m. and it was AWESOME.  We haven't gone to bed that early... like ever.  I never have slept so well  in such a long time.  We woke up early (around 5:30a.m.) got ready and headed to the Temple again.  We went to the first session at 7:30a.m. (FYI best session to go too we usually always go to this session).  We got out of the Temple around 11a.m. and made our journey home.

But not without taking some pictures first =)

I love the Temple.  I love being able to serve and  to do the work for those who have passed on.  I have a testimony that families truly can be together forever and it's only through being sealed together in the temple and by the proper Priesthood authority.  I love being able to go to the Temple and to just be "out" of the world. I love feeling the Holy Spirit and feeling the love that my Heavenly Father has for me.  I have been so blessed in my life and I owe it all to my Heavenly Father.  I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can one day live with God again.  He is our advocate with the father, he is our older brother, he is our best example, and he is our Savior.

Ohio

About a week ago Chris and I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio for my grandmother's funeral.  This was the first time ever that one Chris and I have been together out of the state of Florida and two we had been on a plan together since we were married almost two years ago.  It was very exciting.

We left on Thursday February 24th out of Voldosta, GA.  Let me tell ya this is a really small airport with only two gates and free parking.  It was cheaper then flying out of Tallahassee and come on free parking!

The funeral was on Friday, February 25th.  There was a snow storm that started the night before and continued that whole day until about three or four in the afternoon.  It was so wonderful to see my family that I haven't seen in so long.  My family is spread throughout the country and it was so great to be with even just some of them.  My siblings and I were each asked to participate some way in the service.  I just gave a little talk and just kinda winged it.  My goal was to explain how it was such a joyce day because my grandmother was with our Heavenly Father again and that families are forever and we will see her again someday.  There were people there and family members who are not members of the Church and so I really wanted to bare my testimony of the gospel and the importance of our Heavenly Father's plan.

Friday night was amazing my family and I all went to Carrabas for dinner.  We were there for almost four hours! It was so great to just sit and visit and catch up since we don't get together very often.

This is us outside of the restaurant... see the snow!!

The next day Chris, my sister, brother-in law, and I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  It was so cool and I totally recommend anyone to going...especially if you are interested in music and history!

After the meseum we went to lunch at Chipotle and then went to this place called Trader's Joe.  It's a really cool little market with all organic food but it's super cheep! Seriously, really good prices.  We got some food/snacks for dinner later.
Here's Chris with our spread

We had such a wonderful time.  I'm so happy Chris was with me and he got to meet members of my family that he hasn't meet yet too.  I'm so grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that I have of the restored church upon the earth today.  I have experienced death in my family quite often and I'm thankful for the knowledge that I have of the eternal nature of families and that we can be sealed for time and all eternity through the proper preisthood authority.

My AMAZING Birthday!

I have been meaning to blog for awhile now and I would have blogged about my birthday but things came up and it's taken me two weeks to get to it.  I know you probably have been dying to know how it went... but probably not.  But I'm going to tell you either way.

Can I just say I have an amazing husband.  First off he prepared a birthday party with Melissa B. for Seth and I.  It was so fun and I enjoyed it with all my great friends.  It was going to be a surprise party but it fell through with some issues and just turned into a regular party. That was the first spoiling he did and then he spoiled me all day on my birthday... seriously! He soils me a lot but today was over the top.  We woke up early Friday morning and went and worked out at the Leach (yes I am that crazy girl that wakes up early to get to the gym by 6:15-30a.m. in the morning).  Chris played basketball with a new guy he meet and then we went a played tennis for about a half hour.  I had class still so I went to class and then we went home to get ready for work.

These are my "Hey Look I'm 22" Pictures.  HAHA

Okay, can I just say I have an amazing job too! I work with some pretty awesome people.  When it's your birthday we have a lunch and you get to choose what it's going to be.  I chose subs (I did that last year too and we always seem to have pizza so I wanted to jazz it up a bit).  So we had subs, chips, and an amazing salad.  I got a wonderful card from my co-workers AND the best present ever... wait for it... my own set of headphones!! I had been sharing with the other girl that works my job in the morning and I'm already a germaphobe so getting my own headphones was great.  I got to use them for the first time on my birthday.

Next, Can I say I have an amazing family!  I was sitting at my desk behind the bullet prof glass and see this woman come off the elevator with a huge edible bouquet.  I was thinking oh my goodness that would be awesome if that is for me... next thing I hear... "I have a delivery for Kendal" my response, "That's me!!" I look at the card and it says Happy Birthday from your In-Laws.  They are so good to me and they know my love of fruit.  Later that evening my awesome mother in law dropped off a wonderful card for me too. Also I talked to all my siblings and my best friend that day. =)

Work went well I didn't have any crazy callers.  I got to leave at 5:15p.m. (It was really my break but my supervisor told me I could leave at that time).  Chris came a got me and we had to stop at Joanne's to pick up some things for my gift for Sarah's baby shower the next day.  I was on the phone with my dad at the time and Chris was traveling down the road and said "Oh I just realized I'm going the wrong way"and he turns to get onto Thomasville Road. I ask my dad to hold and say to Chris "No but we should go this way (meaning down Gadsden) because that is the easiest way to Joanne's not Thomasville Road."  I continue to talk to my dad and then we pull into the greatest place ever... Lucy and Leo's Cupcakery! I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now.  We walk in and I'm thinking "oh man what am I going to choose."  However, my amazing husband already called in an order and the cup cakes were waiting.  He is so great.  FYI he asked my supervisor earlier in the week if I could leave at 5:15p.m. that day.

We got to Joanne's and I got my felt for my craft project and then headed home.  We were going to originally go out to dinner because Chris wanted to take me to a really nice restaurant (Shula's actually) but I said how about we have the best darn breakfast for dinner dinner.  Chris made french toast on real french bread and sausage (we never get sausage).  We had the amazing fruit as well.  The rest of the evening I worked on my craft project and we just chillaxed.

Yes it was as good as it looks!

Yummy red velvet cup cake.  There was one for me and one for Chris and then a cookies and cream to share... okay I ate half of it that night.  Chris didn't want the other half that night.  He didn't eat it Saturday and then Sunday rolled around and I asked him if I could have the other half and he let me... see he is so awesome!

Here are the things I made for the baby shower.  They are little stuffed animals you can hang on the baby car seat with those plastic connective rings.  I thought they turned out cute.  I especially like the octopus

I am so thankful for my wonderful husband Chris.  He treats me so well and I am so blessed to be sealed to him for time and all eternity.  I have no idea how he can top this year!
